SnoozeShade Plus

When I heard about the SnoozeShade I couldn't wait to try it. It isn't every day that you find a sleeping cover that is breathable, SPF 50 and versatile enough to be used when kids are
awake too.

What I love about it
  • 'Blackout blind' for sleep that is breathable and blocks 98% of UV rays. The SPF 50 is a big deal to me as excessive sun exposure is especially harmful for young children. I decided to test the blackout blind to see how dark things got. It wasn't as dark as my blackout curtains, but it was decently dark.
  • Great for use while your child is awake. You can open up the lookout window (blocks 80% UV rays) and get some sun protection and shade while allowing your child to look around. I also tested this out and you can see pretty well through it.
  • If you don't want to cover the entire stroller or bassinet for whatever reason, you can also partly cover it up to make a sun shade (see photo below).
  • Changes quickly from a sunshade to a sleep shade by zipping up the panel over the lookout window. Easy as pie.
  • It fits with babies and toddlers. I tried it out with my 1 year old and 4 year old and it worked great.
  • The Snoozeshade Plus fits practically every single stroller and even bassinets.
  • Protects your child from breezes and bugs.
  • There are Snooze Shade products available for single strollers, double strollerscar seats and even playpens. My family travels a lot so this last option is a dream come true for me!

Some extra thoughts
  • I suggest using this from the time your child is young. Many kids don't like things in front of their faces and may get upset with the snooze shade when you use it for the first time when they are older. My 1 year old was a little unsure of it at first but got over this quickly. If your child doesn't like to have the snooze shade over the entire stroller, you can just put it over the top half as a sun shade (see photo below).

This is awesome. The shades cost as much as my play pen...but still an awesome idea.

I agree Sharon, they are a bit pricey. I wish they cost less. But I guess if they're saving you from countless sleepless night and naps, then it's worth it!

I actually never saw your first post on the snooze shade, but I purchased on recently for our trip to Disney a couple of weeks ago. Our 10 week old slept great in her car seat during the day (when she wasn't in the Ergo) and it was nice not having to worry about sun exposure too. I think it's awesome, especially for those little ones you're trying to get or keep on a schedule while you're out and about!

Yeah for baby carriers and snoozeshade Emily! They both make my life much easier with kids! I haven't tried the car seat one yet so it's great to hear feedback about that one for when I have another baby.

      Karen,
It will be available in the US in a few months. Until then, you have to order from the UK site. http://www.snoozeshade.com/snoozeshade-for-cots

    2. It's available for playpens now in the US. Just a 3.50 shipping fee. Not sold on amazon for some reason but with shipping that cheap, I'm ok with that. I'm just putting this here for other people that come across this and want it. You have probably already bought one or figured something else out ;)
